Facial Fat Grafting
Do you want to have a more youthful, rejuvenated facial appearance? Facial Fat Grafting restores volume to the face to help reverse the signs of ageing.
Facial fat grafting involves using your own fat from a donor area - such as thighs, stomach, or hips. This is then treated and transferred into the face to transform your image.
Who is a suitable candidate for facial fat grafting?
You may consider fat facial grafting if you have:
- A gaunt face
- Flatness in the face
- A chubby face
- Asymmetry of the face
- Gaunt or sunken eyes
How is facial fat grafting performed?
At London Lipo Institute, we use tumescent liposuction for facial fat grafting.
The procedure involves three steps:
- Removal of the fat: tumescent liposuction is used to remove fat from a donor area, such as the back, thighs, abdomen or hips.
- Treatment: the removed fat is then treated and purified.
- Injections: the removed and purified fat is then injected into the areas of the face such as cheekbones, lips, mid-face, chin and jawline.
Facial fat grafting not only allows you to have a more voluptuous face, but the donor area will also appear thinner and more defined.
What is the recovery period like?
After facial fat grafting, it is normal to experience some bruising and swelling, particularly where the liposuction took place and on the face. This is completely normal and will reduce after about two weeks. You may experience some pain and/or discomfort. You will be given pain medication to help alleviate any symptoms.
You will need to take about three to five days off work, although some people may feel the need to take a longer period of time off.
It is important that you avoid any vigorous physical activity for four weeks, including any heavy lifting. You will need to consider this when returning to work.
Yes, at London Lipo Institute, Facial Fat Grafting is completed as a day procedure. You will be able to return home once the effects of the anaesthetic have worn off.
The procedure should take around two hours to complete.
You will be able to see results immediately, however, it is important to be aware that swelling and bruising will change the appearance. Swelling and bruising should reduce after two weeks, at which point you will be able to see the final results.
