You will be a suitable candidate for breast augmentation if you are unhappy with the appearance of your breasts and are looking to improve them. Your breasts may be too small, asymmetrical or misshaped.
This will ultimately come down to personal preference. However, there will be other factors which will influence what size implants are appropriate for you. The surgeon will have to look at your body size, existing breast size and how much tissue and skin is available. If you choose implants which are too big, the edges of the implant may become visible after surgery.
The procedure will be performed under a general anaesthetic, so you will be asleep throughout the procedure and unable to feel any pain or discomfort.
At London Lipo Institute, breast augmentation is treated as a day case. You will be able to return home on the same day as the procedure, once the effects of the general anaesthetic have worn off.
In the first few days, you can expect to experience some bruising, swelling and feel some pain and discomfort. You may wish to take pain medication to help with any symptoms, or use an ice pack to reduce swelling. You will have to wear a compression bra, which will help to support the breasts and reduce swelling.
It will take at least six weeks for your skin to stretch and for the implants to settle into place.
You will have to avoid all exercise for at least two weeks, after which point you can resume light activities. You can resume your usual exercise regime after six weeks.
You should avoid driving for at least 10 days, or until you feel comfortable performing emergency moves.
